Fishbowl plans to release new update Fishbowl 2020.5 on May 21, 2020.

On May 21st,  Fishbowl will be releasing Fishbowl 2020.5, which will give you access to many more customizable options within Fishbowl.  However with this new functionality, they’ve changed how the custom fields are stored, which will naturally affect existing custom reports and custom integrations that are using those fields.

If TaraByte Solutions has built you a custom report or integration, it is imperative that you speak with us before updating to Fishbowl 2020.5.  You can reach our Reports Team by e-mailing [email protected].

Please visit our FAQ page for more answers. Please review the checklist below before updating Fishbowl.

IMPORTANT CHECKLIST BEFORE UPDATING TO 2020:

  1. If you do not already have a 2019 license key, click here to update your license key.
  2. If upgrading Fishbowl from a version before 2018, your shipping integrations will need to be reconnected after installing.
  3. Any Custom Reports and/or Custom Integrations may need to be updated to work with 2019. Please contact the our reports team [email protected] you purchased them from us before upgrading to ensure they will work with the new version.
  4. If this is your first time updating to 18.4 or later, the information you used to setup your shopping cart plugin will need to be re-entered in the Plugins module after updating.
  5. If you have a Custom Plugin that was built by TaraByte Solutions, please email [email protected] before updating.
  6. If you integrate with QuickBooks Online, you will need to re-integrate after updating to version 2019.10
  7. Beginning with Fishbowl 2019.10, Fishbowl Canada no longer requires a country-specific version of Fishbowl.

  • How do you do a return for a kit on a Fishbowl SO? Right now I do it as individual items. 39:00
  • I’m having a problem with inventory location. When I run out of an item the inventory location disappears.  How to set up inventory so you know where the item belongs in warehouse? 1:00:45
  • Is there a way to set up a location so that it can only be pulled from for a certain customer’s SO’s? 4:30
  • If the inventory has moved from the location you receive it to, you can’t change the cost when you reconcile. How do you keep it from being moved until you reconcile when Ops is receiving and Accounting is reconciling? 54:10
  • We use Manufacture orders to consume samples to customers and push the cost to the correct Quickbooks account. Is there a way to do this on a Sales Order instead and have it push to the correct Quickbooks account? 1:05:10
  • Do you know of a way to get Fishbowl to attach a date to a tag that would not change as the product is moved to another location? 1:07:10
  • I heard that if lot number tracking is turned on for a product, that a lot could be scrapped at the correct costing layer, even if the current layer is a different cost. Is this true? 1:08:10
  • Lot number tracking for inventory – best ways to successfully use this feature? 1:11:10
  • With regards to QBO and FB holding account; my FB posts does not continually use the holding account. Why? 15:40
  • My inventory balance in FB compared to QBO is never in the same. Why might this be? 17:13
  • We use Fifo inventory. If I want an evaluation report as of 4/30/2020 as of today, which report would provide this information accurately? 47:29
  • RMA Replacement – how do you enter? currently we enter both the return and the replacement on the same RMA.  This creates the same SO number for both the shipment and the return.  Is there a better way to enter these? 1:06:30
